I have over 17 years of experience in statutory, private and NHS psychotherapy services and have an extensive understanding of individual personal needs.
I have worked in a specialist trauma service within King’s College Hospital for over 11 years holding a senior psychotherapist post. I then worked for a mental health NHS trust in their adult complex mental health service and acute psychiatric inpatient unit in Devon.
Currently, I am working as a private psychotherapist and clinical supervisor. I am also delivering training in trauma and how to work with vulnerable people who have experienced trauma. Prior to this, I worked in the addictions field in private treatment centres and statutory services.
I hold graduate and post-graduate qualifications in psychotherapy including a Master’s Degree in Existential Psychotherapy. I maintain a high calibre of continued professional development to maintain the best possible training, allowing you the best possible up-to-date treatment.
I have completed my EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) training and in conjunction with my previous trauma experience, I can offer a wide range of specialised treatment in this area.
I have also undertaken a post-graduate diploma in working online and offering online psychotherapy.
As a qualified clinical supervisor for trainees and qualified therapists, I am an external examiner for the online training academy as well.
I am one of the trainers for the Vita network, a group of professionals working on identifying victims of modern slavery and human trafficking and providing training to front-line professionals such as doctors and other health care professionals across the NHS.
What’s more, I have also provided clinical training to staff at the Hestia project for human trafficking and domestic violence. I have also lectured across various platforms including Exeter University, Barts medical school and other medical settings on trauma and how to manage disclosures of sexual violence.
I held a regular lecture slot in my previous role on a national forensic sexual assault examiners course and have presented internationally on the work I have done within the sexual violence field in the NHS.
I have been involved in published research within the sexual violence field and presented research at international conferences.
My practice is based in my home in Devon near Exeter and in London on Harley str, but I also hold sessions through my online clinic.
Throughout the years, I have worked in a wide range of settings and specialise in TRAUMA, ADDICTION, ABUSE, SEXUAL ASSAULT & RAPE.
I work with fertility and pregnancy difficulties, including recurrent miscarriages, IVF, and pre and perinatal mental health difficulties.
I also have a special interest in working with burnout and compassion fatigue in the medical field and providing treatment to medical professionals via occupational health in some settings as well as privately.
I am a BUPA, AVIVA, and Vitality registered provider for those with private health care.
As an accredited registered member of BACP, I follow the BACP ethical framework and adhere to confidentiality and work in an effective non-judgmental setting.
I take private self-referrals, as well as referrals from psychiatrists and other external agencies.
Locations: I have an online private practice working nationally and internationally and work from my home practice in Crediton Nr Exeter in Devon.
